ELECTIONS: Huge Loss For Atiku As Emir Of Adamawa Endorses Buhari








What seems like a huge loss has beset Alh. Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the opposition PDP as the Emir. of his state, Muhammadu Barkindo-Musdafa annointed incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari as the preferred candidate for the Feb. 16 presidential election.
Buhari had visited Yola Thursday in his re-election bid and was graciously received by Barkindo-Mustafa  who extolled him for the excellent achievements credited to his administration.
He said, "The giant strides you have recorded in various fields of our endeavour such as economy, security and fight against corruption which remain the corner stone of your agenda would not had been possible if not for your resilience, focus, patience and love of the country."
"Mr President, there is no doubt that a lot has been achieved during your present tenure and certainly, you need more time to actualise your dream for a better Nigeria.
Therefore, I call on all and sundry to rally round you and allow you to get to the NEXT LEVEL to enable you to consolidate on the various laudable programmes of your party, the monarch said."
Responding, President Muhammadu Buhari thanked the people of Adamawa for the wonderful reception, saying his administration had started work long time ago on the neglected Mayo-Belwa Jada -Ganye federal road.
Adding that Gombe-Numan- Jalingo federal road is currently under construction as well as bridges destroyed by insurgents are also under rehabilitation.
"We are trying and we would continue to try and we will maintain focus on the projects we started to the final conclusion., he said.
The president said his administration had embarked on massive provision of social investment programmes such as Tradermoni and N-power which had been improving the living condition of millions of Nigerians.
The President arrived at the Yola International Airport on Thursday where he was received by the state governor, Mohammed Jibrilla and members of  the party’s National and State Working Committee.
He later proceeded joined the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Ribadu Square.
